The Patricroft Community Group CIC plays a vital role in overseeing The Castle Community Centre, situated on Lewis Street in Eccles. This centre serves as a hub for various community activities and organisations. Among its occupants, The Castle Community and Friends of Ivy Park Association find their home here. Additionally, the centre hosts the operations of the Salford Baby Bank, providing essential support to families in need.

Within its premises, the center boasts fully-equipped kitchens utilised by The Castle Kitchen and Taste and See Catering, serving not only these organisations, but also catering to the needs of the local community. Moreover, the center provides office spaces utilised by Citywall and the Eccles Youth Team, facilitating their community engagement and support efforts.

The community room and garden serve as versatile spaces, accommodating a plethora of activities on a daily basis. These include gatherings of various community groups, family meetings, children’s clubs, holiday clubs, and youth groups. Through its diverse offerings and inclusive environment, The Castle Community Centre stands as a cornerstone of community support in the area.

The collaboration between the CIC and association is at the heart of the community’s vibrancy in Patricroft. Together, we orchestrate a diverse array of local activities that breathe life into the community. From organising lively community events that celebrate the area’s culture and heritage, to spearheading initiatives aimed at revitalising green spaces, our joint efforts aim to leave an indelible mark on the community.

At present, our focus is on the ambitious project of expanding the community center. By repurposing the cellar into additional communal space and enhancing the garden area, we aim to create more room for interaction, recreation, and relaxation. This expansion reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the community and ensuring that the center remains a dynamic hub of activity and connectivity.
